Cool way to grow apple trees

I like to experiment. I've got them growing as cordons and fans. I fancy trying a garden arch similar to the midle photo, but on a much smaller scale. I also like the look of 'Stepover' fruit trees for edging beds.My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order
to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)

I saw (on a permaculture website) where they grew a row of cordon apple trees criss crossed to make the most beautiful and productive living lattice fence.

I'm growing fruit tree arches - though that sounds rather grand and organised.
Two plum trees
The apples are a bit more random. Wherever there's a branch that can touch another tree, I weave them together into an "arch". At present, 5 apple trees are connected to another one, or two, or even three trees. Difficult to show in a photo!

I have a home trained espaliar apple in a pot. Contemplating putting it in the allotment as a border to the fruit bed. Also have another apple in a pot, that has self trained into a weeping shape. I love training fruit trees, shame I don't really have room for more (except maybe a pear stepover or cordons).
