strawberry in pots- soil mix

A friend of mine wants to grow strawberrys in pots on the patio, they will be in their long term i.e not fresh runners every year.

What soil mix is best? should I use standard peat based compost or is something like john Innes number 3 better?

Mine are in Verve MPC and producing really well
