We had our first apricots today and they were really tasty, given the peculiar weather I count that a real success, and the really large peaches are still to come...and the weather people were right for once,a fantastic day @29deg,caught a bit of the sun but it was good to feel its warmth...a good day...no, a brilliant day

May need to think about fleecing next year! Enjoy your spoils !

with such a long cold spring there were no bugs about to pollinate the flowers so I had to hand pollinate with a kiddies little paintbrush for more than 2 weeks (usually 5-7days) just to get the fruit I am getting, the largest peach is not ready yet but up to the size of a grapefruit, wicked, as my grandson says. we had the first of the peaches today and WWWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWW, absolutely beautiful, I was dribbling and drooling and slurping and grinning all over my face, definitely worth all the effort......

Well done Buffs. Had a lot of flowers which were hand/brush pollinated but very few peaches to eat. Like them because the flowers come out the end of January and makes me feel another season starting.

With the cold spring we had, it meant at least two weeks pollinating by hand to get what would normally be considered a limited crop,but the taste,oh yes. about to trim the long fresh shoots back to 2 buds,to keep it under control, this autumn is root trimming year,with fresh compost and a handful of BFB around Xmas time with a good watering in, then its starting time again...mmmmm.Comment
