Wow what a year for redcurrants, I haven't weighed them yet but have just picked yet another big bowl full. I've already made a litre of redcurrant gin, 8 jars of redcurrant jelly, used some of the really ripe/sweet ones in jelly, after the tales of woe and pants crops of peas and beans this is just great! I think more gin is on the cards it's a lovely drink either on it's own or with tonic

Haven't got redcurrents but aquired two blackcurrent bushes from another allotment that was cutting them down. So they are newly re-established and produced massive fruit although not that many tba. The bushes look strong and I'm looking forward to next year too.
Any of that gin going spare? We do a litre of sloe gin every year, it's a real winter warmer.

My red currants have done well too. Mainly taking up far too much space in the freezer at the moment but will be converted into various jellies and jams. White currants did well too (they always do and I don't even use them much normally but have found a wine recipe so am going for that this year) but black currants got birded rather too much - will net next year I think.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
