I am scavenging from the fig prunings at my father-in-law's...He's just hacked his 100+ year-old trees back for their 5-year harsh cutback. I will have about 20 in my suitcase.

Isn't that the one you tried last year - did nothing come of it? I was going to try air layering my brown turkey as that's supposed to be easier.

I air layered a Rubber plant once with a snapped stem and it worked ok!

It definitely is not Lardman - but I'd be happy if it was

I have 2 toddler fig trees of my own from cuttings, but I was foolish enough to say how easy it was in my sister-in-law's hearing. Am attempting to grow one for her now, as she plied me with wine till I caved. She's a cunning woman with a heavy pouring hand.

The pomegranates came to nothing from cuttings, but I have one grown from the tiniest of seedlings at home and I'll be scouting his garden in spring for one to dig up and bring back.

Funny that, I have so many stories which start the same way

I trust you know after a few years your seed problem will progress into a tree problem I blame you entirely for the Christmas Pippin which added itself to my apple tree order this year.
