James grieves now in the ground.

Hi all,
Been quite busy in the garden today, decided to remove JG from a pot and plant it into the ground. It's up against a south west facing fence, I'm going to have a go at training it as a fan.

Was more work than I had first thought but done now (I hope I've done the right thing)
Guess time will tell.

Tree is on M26 and I have had it in a pot for just short of a year. Should I remove the fruit this year due to re planting it? It fruited well last year.

It probably will not even realise it has been moved if it has been done reasonably carefully, as long as it did not lose loads of root mass in the replanting I see no reason to remove any fruit, it has what it had last year, I would put a handful of bonemeal around the base and every time it rains it will wash a little down to the roots, my James grieve is about 5ft out of the ground, in relatively poor soil but treated as said we got about 75-80 decent type apples off it, picked straight away they taste like cookers, after a while stored in the shed they taste really good, so just stand back and enjoy your fruit..
