I accidentally broke off a large branch of my Tayberry plant. I decided to try root it, I cut it into length to fit into the pot and buried them. I got 10 buried all with buds on, will they root off the plant? What's the likely success rate?

50/50 - either they do or they don't.
Same goes for everything else.
You've lost nothing by trying it. Did you make sure that the sticks were put in the right way up (i.e. the bit that was closest to the root in the soil) and not the other way round?

As they are a cross between Blackberrys/Raspberrys, it shouldn't be a problem.
Just make sure they do not dry out, but do not keep them soaking wet either.Feed the soil, not the plants.

If it doesn't work it will send up suckers just like a raspberry or if the tip of a shoot touches the ground it will root and can the be separated from the main plant.Gardening requires a lot of water - most of it in the form of perspiration. Lou Erickson, critic and poet
