Blue Blueberry Leaves

I havent even sown anything yet and here I am with all my questions

I received 4 super healthy looking blueberry plants from T&M a few weeks ago, spent last week hardening them off and they are currently residing outside waiting to be re-potted.

I noticed yesterday though that the leaves are turning a purpley blue - I wasnt sure if this was because they desperately need re-potting or whether it is because its got a lot colder now than it was when I hardened them off.

Should I bring them back inside? I don't want to lose them - they are currently the only thing I have growing!

Well mine is a vibrant green, came into leaf about a week back and they started out paler.
However there may well be a variety that is blue(ish).

What are they in at present? Especially the soil/compost, also were you considerate and watered them, again what with.

Effectively if not in ericaceous compost then they will suffer and they suffer not acidic soil/compost very quick. The water question is again was it rain water and not tap water? During a drought I "saved" mine by using tap water once, I thought it was going to die, literally the next day it was showing signs of imminent death - never made that error again. It did survive but it took months to recover. And that was say 2 litres of tap water poured onto a pot of ericaceous compost.

It is easy to presume that they prefer acidic conditions, it is not preference, it is essential.

I've 2 bushes in mfbs using ericaceous compost watered by rain only. 1 is green (I think the pink lemonade) the other (bluecrop) turned red/purple in autumn but is budding up now again

I also have a new blueberry which has larger purple leaves (presume last year's growth), and little pale green leaves just starting to sprout

Hmmm maybe they will pull through then.

Kirk they are still in the pots they arrived in and have only been watered with rain. I think its just got a bit cold for them after they've been cosy inside a few weeks

I've got two (One Sunshine Blue and one Pink Lemonade) the leaves on the Sunshine Blue are the same colour as yours. Some of the shoot tips on the Pink Lemonade have turned brown, I think that is frost damage as I forgot to wrap it in a fleece during winter, but the leaves are bright green.

That's probably not much help but I think I did read somewhere that Blueberries have a variety of leaf colours.
