Hi, I have just bought a mystery fruit bush from a small nursery that was closing down, They didnt know what it was and said I could have it for £2 so I thought it was worth a try! I dont however know what it is, it was in the soft fruit section but I dont want to try and eat any berries until I amsure it wasnt miscalssified! It has small spines close together on the stem and the fruits are in clusters surrounded by a kind of sticky furry coating whcih opens to reveal the fruit and allow it to ripen. The fruits looks quite a bright red, shiny and similar to a small part of a raspberry but more redcurrant colour. I will try and take a picture and post it later. If anyone has any ideas what it is please let me know!
many thanks
I'm afraid that I don't know what your fruit bush is, but I am agog! Are the fruits ripe now? Perhaps you have a small child/neighbour/OH who you can use as a guinnea pig....?
he everyone and thanks for all the welcomes! I still havent taken a picture but I will do so over the weekend and post it. In the mean time I will look up what a windeberry looks like!
