I didn't elaborate in the first post to try to keep things a bit shorter, as I do have a habit of using more words than necessary at times!

    It's a few things really...

    - It is in the corner of the garden where two fences *should* meet but there is a 4 foot or so wide gap which I will "plug" with a piece of scrap fence I picked up. The existing fences are already different, so the new/old piece will mean three different fences all together in that corner which doesn't look good on the eye. Something growing in front of it will hide it nicely...

    - ...and will give privacy from next door's garden, but not from their upstairs windows.

    - I much prefer the view from our house (looking out) when I can see things growing rather than their house.

    - Our garden isn't that big, so we are trying to use as much of it as possible for growing.

    So that's the extended version!

Many many thanks for all of the other replies. I've only popped in for a moment and am now heading back out, but will check all the other replies and respond later today.

    Cheers
