As per photo. Could be either glyphosate overspray, or virus. Does anyone have a view one way or the other?

The leaves behind & beneath do not look affected.
Was the ground prepared or was it just planted?
How many have you purchased?
Is this the only one affected ?
How old is this?
Where was it purchased, if you can remember?Feed the soil, not the plants.

I do not think it is either weedkiller or virus.
As you have other stems unaffected, I would treat that stem as being in the wrong place and remove it completely and burn it.
It doesn't help you to find out what has caused it, but if it is a microscopic pest (mites), they won't spread. (do you want to buy a microscope )
I assume the site isn't waterlogged.
Just looked at the photograph again and it may be a little weedkiller drift, but still remove it.Last edited by fishpond; 01-05-2017, 09:32 AM.Feed the soil, not the plants.
