Strawberry Plants and Fire damage

Hi All,

Unfortunately we had a fire at the weekend caused by a overheating outdoor socket, which has damaged the plastic on my GH, I had strawberry plants in there which must been damaged by the heat/smoke, are they likely to regrow? some still have green on them!

Strawbs are pretty hardy - the ones with green still on them will probably pull through... God willing...
Might be worth picking up a few replacements for the worst looking.

I had a similar problem which i shouldn't really admit to!

I had straw around my strawberries one year and always use the ash from the woodburner aroiund the plants as a potash feed.
The problem was I didn't realise the ash was still hot when i placed it around the plants and the straw went up in smoke and flames while I was standing watching from the greenhouse.!

Strawberries came back from the scorching and I had a reasonable crop though!

Hopefully next year they will be blooming again I cannot believe how much damage from an electrical fault on a outdoor socket!

my pear tree and apple tree have damaged leaves to and they were nowhere near!
