They're very hard and grey right now, will they go soft and red? Never had fruit but lots on the allotment! When are they going to be ready?

Hard and grey is how they start, nothing to worry about, they will ripen and go red. When will they be ready? Depends on the variety and the weather.
You just need some patience

There in the same state as mine. They're going to ripen in their own time - no matter how much I state at them licking my lips. I haven't bought the cream yet for them.

I had two red ones yesterday
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

They may be grey but the crop looks like it will be a bumper one, the heaviest I have had in many years, and looking to be ready about mid July. We are just about to finish last years crop kept in the big freezer so the timing is perfect..Comment
