Picked my first couple of outdoor strawbs yesterday, need some sun!! There's some serious runner action going on this year, I can't remember if this is the 3rd or 4th year for this bed, but I will be gathering plantlets to begin a new bed next year this summer.

Here's some of the fruit in my garden today
There's a few pears on the tree, they'll probably fall off like normal, the pollinating partners not doing anything this year, probably because of me & mass pruning or because it wanted extended dormancy period, one of them reasons but it looks like a bare stick, this tree is William Bon Chretien

I made a nice fruit compote from my rhubarb, blackcurrants and strawberries yesterday. The extreme weather is a pain but we're getting some fruit. The blueberries are starting to look close to ripening too.

All my fruit is doing quite well this year. Which is a surprise after last years bumper crop. I thought they might have been on a go slow this year.
But it's all ok, because it turns out the gardeners little helper is brilliant at picking fruit.

Had my first apricots and cherries this year. Was a bit surprised that both ripened in June and are now finished, I was expecting late July! I've had masses of strawberries, blueberries, gooseberries and redcurrants, blackcurrants and rhubarb have been a bit lacklustre. In general everything seems early. My little fig has plenty of fruit although as it's a green variety I find it quite hard to tell when they're ripe. Seem like an excellent year for plums and damsons, all the trees I've seen are groaning with fruit.

Apple trees are laden; the old pear has fruit and the plums are getting there!

The birds have eaten all the cherries, jostaberries, worcesterberries and gooseberries but I did manage to pick the redcurrants and some raspberries before the birds.
Strawberries are doing well and the peaches look good.
              No apricots though

              A few random photos -
