Pears picked too early?

I have a small conference pear tree in my garden with about 20 fruits on it. My 10 year old has just decided they are ready to pick and picked about half of them without asking me! They are mostly fairly small. Is there anything I can do with them or are they wasted?

peel and stew them with a little sugar - impossible to know what they'll be like until you try them - very often nicer eaten cold.
