I went down the shops with OH yesterday and in the entrance to aldi I spotted some fruit plants for sale @ £1.79, so I got two tayberry, one thornless blackberry, and a black hamberg vine, I couldn't resist them, they saw me coming, and the tayberries and blackberry are now in big tubs and the vine will go in the back greenhouse. I didn't need them but at that price we are not going to be out of pocket much if it don't work out..yep, they saw me coming...again..

I love our thornless blackberry (inherited with the plot). The fruit isn't quite as tasty as a regular bramble but the real biggie is IT HAS NO THORNS. I.E you don't pay the piper every time you pick a few berries.

The Medlars being advertised are bare root.
I was under the impression that just about all fruit planted in the Summer/autumn needs to be container grown?Feed the soil, not the plants.
(helps if you have cluckies)
