Spring Feeding of Container Grown Fruit Trees

Please can anyone tell me when in spring and what type of fertiliser should I use to feed my fruit trees that I planted in containers last summer?

As long as they aren't blueberries requiring acidic conditions you really can't go wrong with Bone meal at any time of year. Its a very. very slow release nitrogen and phosphate fertilise ideal for promoting root growth all season and giving a tiny boost to new growth early season.
When nearer to blossom/fruiting time a potassium based tomato fertiliser could be watered around plant every fortnight.

Except for blueberries I go round them all in mid Feb and throw a handful of BFB on the surface of each tub, we are still getting frozen fruit from last year and plenty left. Blueberries I do the same with sulphate of iron. Only strawbs get tomato food later on with any excess given to the fig tub, that's my lot for the year as far as fruit goes..

Snadger. Thank you for the information. Would you apply the bone meal in March? The trees are mainly apple but I do have some blueberries. I have acidic liquid feed which I used last summer but what spring feed would be recommended for these plants?
