Strawberry Problems

Hey guys,
Bought these White Strawberries that are meant to taste like pineapple.
Got them home and potted them into pots and kept them on the kitchen window sill to give them a boost this year.
My issue is some of them have completely died off, the base of the stems are turning brown and just dropping off, I dont think I am overwattering them. I did notice when checking the roots there was a white lice like critter in the soil.

What is my best plan of attack?
Really dont want to loose these.

I'm having a similar problem with my strawberries on the opposite side of the planet. It's fungus gnats which are getting to mine, though (the larvae look like tiny white maggots).

Could be root aphids or root mealy bug.

On ornamentals I've drenched pots with a systemic but with edibles you'll need to do some careful reading.

Hey guys,
Thanks for your input, looking at the roots I did see a white aphid like creature in the roots.
As these are edibles what would you suggest I use to treat them

Have bought 2 lots of the white strawberry's and none of them have done anything other than die. Emailed the supplier and was told to wait until March and if no use get in touch. The other type I got Florence has flowers on them. Both lots kept in the cold greenhouse.

Thanks for the reply, just off the phone with Marshalls and they are going to send out 10 more plants. I have them on a windowsill in the kitchen, Think these will have to go into the greenhouse

They are better in the cold. Strawberries need a period of cold, just be careful not to over water them.

I brought 5 x 4 varieties of strawberry this autumn. The Flarmenco in the greenhouse look similer to yours in the picture except mine are a lot smaller, however the 1 that I planted outside looks fine. So personally think its insects and leaning towards thrips as make leaves waxy and show up as white lice but no way am I sure at all. Frost outside killed them off but they survived in greenhouse may explain it. The other greenhouse strawberries look fine but they were a lot bigger runners
