I have enough "little gentlemen in black velvet" in my garden already - fortunately they're not very talkative.
Lots of us save seeds and swap them with each other here. I don't think we'll be stopping this innocent activity soon.
Many highly bred plants grow from F1 seeds and we all know there's little point saving seeds from those as they don't grow true - so whoever has bred these is quite safe.
Have you noticed the lack of consistency between seed retailers about which seeds are F1 or not - even by the same retailer on their own website. We've pursued this discrepancy with one of them.

I can't help thinking that adding F1 to a seed name increases its price - less seeds and more £s. Suspicious? Me???
