further to earlier answer, after a couple of days more nice weather there is definite bud action on one of the apple trees (bountiful) and also on the Pear (Concorde). The Kiwiberries are also starting to leaf up, which reminds me that I need to put some more wires along the fence for them.
Thanks to all this heat lots has come out all at once. Fingers crossed it doesn't stop fruit from setting.
left to right - wild cherry, Williams pear, unknown plum in front of Victoria plum, kordia cherry and santa maria pear. I shan't bore you with anymore but it is very white and frothy here
Apricot on south facing house wall has lost most of the fruitlets. Only a few on twigs (can't call them branches) very close to the wall have any small fruit on. I suspect got by frost so may be need to fleece in future when frosts threaten.
Damson and Plum flowering here and pears but not cherry, apple or soft fruit yet. An apricot in the open has just flowered, it will be interesting to see if any fruit sets on that. A peach next to it is thinking about flowering - but may not bother.
There is a lot of blossom around, but I reckon part of the effect is due to the earlier cold weather which has meant that a lot of trees are blooming at the same time, when usually the flowering period would have been spread over 6+ weeks for different types and varieties.
My apple trees in flower too with its one branch Im training on the shed, look at the grape next to it trying to squeeze into the space poor thing except its a thug & takes over the land,I dont know what Im doing in this small shed training idea it was alright when they were small
