  • fruit trees now?

    hello everyone
my mom wants to plant new fruit trees in our garden but I am not sure if it is not too late now to do it? I am not an expert in gardening subject so I ask you here..
or maybe you can tell me, what plants will grow now if we plant it?
    looking forward your answers!

Fruit trees will be fine to plant now as long as they have been grown in pots - you will pay more for them like this, but if you go to a garden center to buy them they will be able to give you valuable advice like what to grow in your area etc.

A few things to bear in mind :-

    a) what sort of fruit you like to eat
    b) the ultimate height the trees will grow to - most people find trees taller than 15' awkward as it makes picking etc difficult
    c) whether they are self-fertile or if they need a different variety to pollinate them
    d) the pest issues - its OK growing cherries for example, but virtually impossible to eat any if you have many birds/squirrels around

If you want any more detailed advice just post again please.

Bare root stock trees are usually planted in the dormant season of winter. They are cheaper stock and often better than the supermarket or garden centre. Go online and find a reliable supplier. They will advise on the varieties that best suit your local soil and climate. If you are just planting in a pot that nul and void.

Aldo consider the rootstock they are grafted onto here's a good guide for which rootstock to choose based on what height you want it to get to.
