Thank you Larman, could I ask how many bushes you do then to divide the kg you use per bush
In my case it was 25g ie 25 grams roughly. I only weigh the first one then know what the scoop holds roughly

      Right that's it I'm off to spec-savers ! I could have sworn that read 25Kgs !

5 bushes, 1Kg so roughly 200g per bush, google tells me that is 31g per square foot of the bed. Im on sand, other types of soil may want more / less but that's what works here.

Thank you Lardman. I had read one should not put more than 1lb/100sqft which is roughly 4.5g ft so that is where my 25g plant come come. Your info and massive berry yields vs my present two plants (lucky if get 1kg plant), will encourage me to go a bit higher in future. I have just planted a potted one (brought 2 bare root earlier in year) and incorporated 12" deep about 60g sq ft sulphur into the clay soil area along with manure pre planting, thought safe as roots wont spread into sulphured soil till next year

I noticed a increase in crop when I started the commercial / chemical liquid feed. I'd previously tried manure, BFB , comfrey and growmore, this year I also tried slow release pellets but with the weather it's impossible to say if it was effective.

What's your pruning regime, it's best to keep the bushes renewing growth from the base rather than just growing taller on old blind wood.

When you say commercial , do you mean 15-15-15 ? I use some of that early season along with iron sulphate and sulphur. Then use erinanious growmore on the leaves when flowering/ early fruit. I havent pruned them at all, an area I know zero about. Shame they are not like black currants as get loads off them without any care to speak of.

I only bought my blueberry plant this year so haven't needed to prune it yet. However I did see a good video and it seems fairly similar to blackcurrants in terms of taking out the older wood. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZsYXwtHFmdk
