I mean you used to be able to put [ img ] tags around the link and it would display the picture, but this feature seems to have gone? Or am I missing something?

actually ive just noticed that it is only in this forum that you can not link to an external picture, only upload one. Very strange for a 'Showcase'

Too techy for me Wizer. I just "do" the picture and it appears.

Actually, the answer is not in that thread. Why would you prefer users to upload pictures instead of link to them like the rest of the forum? Surely this impacts on your server load\usage?

Your right there! However some users may not think to change the diamentions of the image when they link to it, causing havok with the layout. I have discussed it with our admin and they will not budge.

Lovely pair, WiZer, hope they taste as good as they look. I had something weird happen to one of my pics. when I tried to attach a photo of my dear departed dog. I had scanned the image to the computer & resized it to the right pixel size but it appears as a link which has to be uploaded not a thumbnail as usual, don't know why.

                              Linked picture

The difference is obvious when you use the "quote" function.
The attached picture shows as an attachment where as the other shows the path to where the picture is located (in this case my photo bucket account)

This has the advantage that I can post a picture more than 100k in size. The down size is If I delete it or move it the link wont work in the future.
