And I was worried about my caterpillars! What is it Nick?

Blimey, that's a big un Nick! I had one in the garden last year & it was only about 50 mm long & had a spider's web plastered all over it's face as though it had just escaped. I would love to see the moth though as I have never seen one although obviously must be one around somewhere nearby.

I get loads of moths in my garden. It's a real pain sometimes as the munch their way thru the Chrysanths! I think most of the m live in the Silver birch at the bottom of the garden.

He was quite a beauty wasn't he. The especially like Willo herb ..... (hangs head in shame) I've got a nice patch of that as the bottom of the garden was left this year whils I concentrated on other jobs

Any excuse Nick, wildflowers are very fashionable now though & the white form of willow herb is very popular so you're just being a trendsetter!

Weird I thought I posted this yesterday, but the Victorians introduced rosebay willow herb as a garden plant. But then they used to use cannabis plants as screening cos they grew so tall....

I like the sounds of that SBP, you wouldn't worry about the weeds then & you bonfires would be popular with everyone

That is one cool looking catterpillar! The spots on it's back end sure look like eyes, don't they? Probably to scare predators away.

Speaking of cannabis, I once had the stuff growing in my garden. I did not plant the stuff on purpose, I swear! I was feeding my budgie at the time when I spilt some of his food. Back then, budgie seed used to contain hemp seeds. Of course, these seeds started to grow and, before we knew it, we had hemp growing by our back door! We just picked them out and threw them away like weeds.

BTW, did you know that Queen Victoria used to use marajuana as pain control?

The daddy (or mummy) once paid a visit to out house one summer evening.

Wings furled it was like a sausage stuck to the wall, HUGE.

The OH is terrified of moths, so I had the room to myself for some time.
