  • I entered a horticutural show - and won a first !

    Seen a advert in a window for a show yesterday and rang them last night to see if i could enter , no problem was there reply so i put into two classes.
    My first class was four veg of three in a tray and i did 3 red cabbages , 3 veg spagetti , 3 green peppers and 3 borlotti beans and lost as there was 5 others in trays and mine without as it was last minute.
    Second was longest runner bean and i got first out of ten with a bean of 18" and the nearest was 10" long and i got a ten pound cash prize for winning , three pounds i spent on joing the R.H.S that ran the compution.

        Congratulations Carlesawolf. Well done. Thanks for the pics of the certificates but I'd rather have seen the bean - I'm weird like that - love looking at pics of the vegs.

            Way to go dude! That's some mighty impressive length you have there! I'm guessing you'll be there to defend your crown next year?

              thank you all , and yes i said i would go back again to enter the bean catagories and many more if i have the crops as it was so much fun.

              p.s i'll keep this in reserve for the longest bean catagory on here, as i have another dozen the same lenght on the plants to try and beat this one.

                  Congratulations Carl. Must be all the rain we've had!! What variety is it? Mine only grow that long when they're so well hidden in the growth that they get overlooked but they're all lumpy with huge seeds.
                  Life is too short for drama & petty things!
                  So laugh insanely, love truly and forgive quickly!
