Our Mutant Courgette~Glut in a day!!

We had a courgette selfseed from a yellow F1 variety that we grew last year.It's been going from strength to strength throwing between 3-5 at us a day!Has totally overtaken it's neighbouring Dills Atlantic on how much it's spread.Every time we think it's exhausted itself it grows a new runner & starts all over!!Anyway yesterday I decided to have a proper search amongst it's leaves and was amazed even more by it & picked 14 courgettes of majorly varying sizes(I swear all from same plant & same day!)including one "double".
I know the norm's to use a 50p for size reference but could only find 20's!

wow, what have you been feeding it?? i hope mine has produced some like that for when i get home, there were 2 just starting to swell ones when i left

Crikes, I was hoping to be coming to the end of my lot (green bush) - no chance but that many on one plant jeez.

Leaving mine to marrow now in the hope they give up at least I can store the marrow and use for stuffing

I am thankful that my courgettes aren't that productive - I pick about 400 a week from 250 plants and still have plenty coming, as well as about 50 marrows. If they were as productive as yours I'd be flooding the market !!!

Well her leaves have turned rather mildewy(I probably should pull her up but she's been so good to me~& anyway don't plan on planting sqash on that plot for a few years anyway!)but a few days ago she appeared to have several babies so I'm hoping to get just a few more to stock me up on pickled courgetes for the winter(& spring!!)Having started a thread on vegging out(saving F1 seed)I rather think a cross contamination with a pumpkin may have happened last year?Whatever I think I may be trying a repeat performance next year(~if Good Old Mother Nature will allow!!)Wellie & Zazzen~my freezers are full to capacity with soup & I've not even made a start on the pumpkins!!
