The trouble with wine judging is you have to spit it out again! Must be hard being a wine judge! Lol
My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)
How about a victoria sponge class - I've always wanted to judge one of these. the woman who judges at mancetter just cut bits out & didn't eat any !!! I think you'd have to sample at least 2 slices to make sure it is consistant

Never be afraid to try something new.
Remember that a lone amateur built the Ark.
A large group of professionals built the Titanic

How about a various beers class - dandelion, etc. If you do it like wine tasting, spit it out onto slugs!
Re-use things that are not normally associated with gardening. I read somewhere that woolly jumpers can be used as hanging basket liners. How about using a load of 2-litre fizzy drinks bottles to make a greenhouse (on the Scottish Environment Agency website?)
Hi MV - I always use bits of old jumpers to line my hanging baskets - they hold the moisture in so less watering - saw it on a TV programme years ago. I'm just trying to picture a greenhouse made of plastic bottles
