              I hadn't either until I searched for some design ideas on t'internet. Took me a while thinking about how I could take the outer layer of skin to a specific depth so i didn't gouge right through to the inside.
              Settled on a zesting thing like the attached; and then using a spoon to scrape the revealed area smooth. Worked rather well I think

                We used a variety of kitchen knives to do the big cuts, and a small craft knife for the peeling of the skin and small detail

                To get the pattern, we taped the stencil over the pumpkin, and used a pin to poke holes on all the lines as a template

                                Here's my little pumpkin, I pinched the idea of the tinternet...Its the little green guy off "monsters inc", or in my case the little orange guy
