I planted some early ones and cant for the life of me remember what they were. I know (as i am new to potatoe growing) that they were a type i hadnt heard of before.

Can you remember what the seed potatoes looked like when you planted them? I think mine had a purplish tint to them.

Sorry for sounding dim and i know i will know before too long

Also is it possible to identify potatoes from their flowers or are a whole lot of them the same?

    thanks in advance
Sorry, I can't remember the colour of the seed, they all look dirty to me...
Have a look at Nicos origional post & it shows pics of lots of tattie flowers, then again a lot of them look the same .............If you know what you bought , then that will be a good start.

        Thanks bigmally

chrismarks....its not rooster as i have those for my main crop....chitting at the minute.

I got them from suttons site along with ulster cheiftans and ulster something else It doesnt matter anyway, if i get a crop, they will all be eaten anyway.

I'll check on suttons site to see if anything seems familiar.

        thanks guys

Why are your roosters not in the ground, assuming you have the space to put them in.

My rooster halums are *huge* at the moment..

Maybe they're growing them for xmas spuds?

I've never seen a red spud before, so I'm looking forward to it.

BTW, there's some other spud.. romeo? crossed from a rooster and something else - was that it?

I only received them last week from suttons along with Mairs piper (i think) They are a later cropping one (again, i think) I had ordered them a ouple of weeks ago. They have chitted enough yet.

Surely they wouldnt have sold them to me if it was too late to plant them. Also could my location have anything to do with what they sell?....

                What da ya think?
