Here is my Dad proud as punch with his shallots. He planted 24 sets from Homebase and is one happy bunny. He will probably spend a week peeling them all ready for the pickle jar!

Jealous!
This is my second year growing shallots and the second time I've been completely disappointed in the result.
Last year's never got off the ground, but despite being dug over, they started shooting this spring, so I transplanted them, they started off okay and have now flopped.
Maybe it's the shallots, maybe it's the soil, maybe it's the gardener.
All I know is; I'm completely envious of your dad's haul.Current Executive Board Members at Ollietopia Inc:

Much better than mine too. Maybe it's our Lack-of-Rain here Ollie? (Best pathetic excuse I can come up with on the spur of the moment!)
He has every right to be proud! Well done!Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.
