Your "blues" would go down very well here in Shetland Roitlet. I sometimes think they are the Shetland national costume!

Aerodynamically the bumblebee shouldn't be able to fly, but the bumblebee doesn't know that so it goes on flying anyway.

At a time when I clearly had too much time on my hands I embroidered 'HAZEL' on the back of mine. Can't even remember why now...?

'LAST ONE OUT, PUT THE LIGHTS OUT'

This was daubed on the wall of Consett Steel Works when four thousand steelworkers were made redundant in one foul swoop, many moons ago! Strange how things stick in your memory!!

Another victim of that "Economic" experement.
I also lost my job(indirectly) on it too.
The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.

BTW I think the rise in wire worm is directly linked to the political leadership in the country 1979-1997.

Yep, I was one of the many...had worked there for 10 year! Luckily I was young enough to find another permanent position reasonably quickly (ergo 2 Years!) though!:

Employers were very ageist in those good old days, so if you were in your forties or fifties when made redundant in a 'Company' town, it was basically the end of your working life!
