....but they are plants I had a couple of days holiday and the sun always shines on the Righteous etc. so I took The Natch out to savoutr the delights of the wood nearby. The Bluebells are making a good show as you can see, another 2 or 3 weeks and I think they'll be in full bloom followed by a couple of shots of the local scenery

When are bluebells supposed to be in flower Nick? I seem to remember them being sort of late April or May when I was a child, but daughter has some in flower on her allotment now!

I would have said around April/May time as well RL. The path was really wet & muddy but it was a beautifuk day so I went the long way round to the lottie!!

What lovely pictures - and what a lovely doggy! I walk my dog in the woods everyday and we've got carpets of snowdrops at the moment, but the bluebells are all bursting through the soil too and should be in bloom in the next few weeks. Then the pink purslane will be out at the same time as the daffs and all the ferns and bracken will start growing - it's magical as every week another plant springs to life. Last year the bracken got so tall, me and the dog felt we were on the set of LOST pushing our way through the thick of it and when I through a stick for her whe went running off and if I was on a hill looking down, all I could see was the bracken moving about, wherever she ran - it was hilarious. Can't wait for summer!

She really enjoys the walks but there again she's not 6 moths old yet so it's all new. Her other favourite pastime is snoozing ..... in not so lady like poses

Hi Sue,

The Ruins are whats left of an aold Manor house (it was called Hartshill Castle but wasn't fortified like most castles) It's been like that for years ( as long as I can remember. As to the tail, not only is it Waggy it herts when it hits you !!!

Yes it is a beutiful setting & officially it is a village but it has merged with the town that has spraweld over but luckily I live on the opposite side to all that.
