First year I wanted to enter something home made but could only come up with apple sauce at short notice
Could I just say PLEASE will everyone have a go? It's just for fun, the mods put in a lot of work to do this for us so let's take part: use it or lose it, as they say.

All gardeners know better than other gardeners." -- Chinese Proverb.
Yer,what TS said ^^ ,my money is on our newbie Pyranian member to win heavyest pumpkin (assuming it is entered of course )
Last year our biggest was a tiddler at 7.4kg. But given that we had no grid electricity therefore no freezer and just a teeny gas beer fridge (milk, cheese, butter, wine, beer = full) we were eating that bloody squash for days and days and days. And we had friends round for dinner. And we gave loads away.
Nothing so grand this year. Phew.
There is a muck heap in a local farm where the pumpkins are big enough to stand on
