Our first baby has a flower!!

And we tasted our very first home-grown potato today! Only the one, and divided it by four (about the size of two peas) and it was delicious!!!

    How excited am I?

Great feeling isn't it Jan. I think we are all as daft as each other! Well done.

Nope - but looking at the size, its a boy!!!

I'm just dreaming of grating it with some garlic butter!!! Or shall I roast it? Or maybe I should try it with salad? Oh the choices...

Lovely baby Witch. If it doesn't throw that flower away, help it off gently or it's nose will rot.

Which my courgettes were that far ahead. Looks lovely witch-1. I'd favour a little butter, black pepper and a touch of garlic.

Glad you enjoyed your first potato.

I too am now a proud parent!!

See my blog (picture is easier to load/view).

I planted some Streamline runner beans too, and made a mini-fence to keep the wabbits off.

I want to get down there tonight too - actually, I need to because those tatties won't feed four.

Well done all of you! and you DO squeal when you eat them. Last night we had 3 small courgettes, thinly sliced longways and flash fried in chilli oil - accompanied by a modest boiling of spuds and a couple of carrot thinnings each - but it was enough to get the flavour and to make us despise shop food all over again!
You got more spuds than I did HeyWayne!
PS had freshly picked strawbs with our cereal this morning too. Bliss!

Miss EB had most of the strawbs from the last two or three days for a snack after school yesterday. I'm looking forward to a good platter full for her party next week. That and some new potatoes for the hungry hoards (well 5 at the moment)

Well done witch - and everyone else! Looks like a great healthy bouncing baby. I'd go with the butter and garlic as well, yummy!! I bbq's courgette with my homemade thai curry sauce last night but it was from the farmshop cos my babies only have three leaves each so far! Hope you enjoy your first and many more as well.
Life may not be the party we hoped for but since we're here we might as well dance
