            Cucumber Melone tortarella Abruzzo

Had the seeds from a seed swap - they are a light green ridged cucumber variety from the Abruzzo region of Southern Italy. The info say they have a tendency to become 'hairy', but these are few and far between. So far they have all been hairy! Though they have a great flavour and a real crunch.

I believe these are Armenian cucumbers. The plants were given to me and were grown from Greek seeds. They are covered in fine, downy hairs and ribbed. Not yet tasted .
