I've just found another attraction for the crimson Broad bean. The scent off the flowers is terrific!!! I spent about 30 mins looking for an escaped Primrose or the like never thinking it could be these!!ntg Never be afraid to try something new.

Thats right BK. I was given 4 seeds by someone & 3 came up so they are being pampered in the greenhouse at the moment for seed production for next year. The scent when you open the greenhouse door I incredible, If they tase half as good they'll be delicious!!ntg Never be afraid to try something new.

The pink one is officially salmon but it depends on the heat in the greenhouse & the light you get when I take the photo.

Someone previously asked something about Clematis - I think it was about slow to start - sorry can't remember who it was. Thought you might like to see mine growing along the wall, and the mound at the back right of pic is Clamatis growing over an old Hawthorn stump .Both Jackmani. They were very slow to get started but after about 2 years took off so be patient. Pic taken yesterday when rain went off for a few hours. I pushed a traily bit of the Clematis into a pot of compost and pegged it in so hopefully I will get a new one.
The Azaelia (sorry quality of pic not so good as it is gorgeous) I grew from seed a good few years ago. I had a whole tray which had germinated beautifully and were growing on strong. I left the tray out on the kitchen windowsill and a blackbird raked the whole lot out. This one was the only survivor.
