Vine show 2016
This year we have a slightly new look for the competition....we have merged a few catagories and created a couple of new ones
Below are the 17 categories for the 2016 Virtual Vine Show...Get your cameras out guys!
1) Best Funny Fruit or Veg.
2) Plate of Chilli's/Peppers - collection or one variety.
3) Three alliums/garlic/onion/shallots
4) Three Beans, Same Variety
5) Three root Veg
6) Plate of Tomatoes
7) Three blooms - single or variety/vase of flowers
8) Three Potatoes
9) Selection of Curcurbits ( squash, cucumber etc)
10) Selection of fruit - single or variety on a plate
11) Dish made with own produce
12) Prettiest Hen
13) Best container - flowers or veg or combination
14) One Brassica
15) Best Failure
16) Best imaginative/useful garden/allotment structure
17) Any other item
And, a special category for this year...
Best in Show!
To be judged by Admin.
***This is just for fun, presentation is informal as this is not a serious competition.***
NB "All entries must have been grown by the entrant for at least two-thirds of the life of the plant
and should have been cropped during the 2015/2016 season
Classes will open soon - date to be arranged.
Closing date will be the end of September, midnight on the 30th.
Voting will take place over a period in October, dates to be agreed.
As with last year's competition, points will be awarded to 1st/2nd/3rd places and the final totals will be presented at the end of the competition.
The GYO magazine will be featuring this competition in the magazine over a series of months so your entries may actually end up in print!!
As previously, they have kindly offered to provide small prizes to the top 3 winners on 'cumulative points'
And an extra prize for Best in Show!
..so get in loads of piccies peeps! ( the higher quality the better- but that isn't essential)
