Can I just ask Piglet/Jennie, does the single rose have to be cut & in a vase or can it be a photo of it on the bush? I have some lovely 'Gertrude Jekyl' ones but don't want to cut them off & they have buds alongside the main bloom, would that be O.K.?

To answer some of your questions (bear in mind that the other judge with great experience of showing is on holiday at the moment, my experience of anything connected with showing is well ... nothing).
Rustylady - if you do want to delete a previous entry and submit another I'm sure that will be fine. Later in the month we'll have an "end" date from GYO, so will post that as the deadline. Alternatively keep collecting you photographs and post them nearer the deadline, although that does take the fun out seeing everyone posting. (Please let me know if any of you are having problems deleting - I can always do it for you.)
Specimen Rose Bloom - Sue it doesn't say it has to be in a vase, so I would place your entry and see what we make of it when the time comes. I know you wouldn't normally take the bush to the show in reality, but then this is a virtual reality show!
Moggsue - I've asked GYO to consider a Brassica's section possibly
1 cabbage
1 head of broccoli
I've yet to hear whether that is ok, but keep taking the pictures ready to post.
I hope that brings things up to date~

Sorry to keep asking questions.......but there doesn't seem to be a lettuce category, and as I have appoximately 500 to choose from at the Hill, I thought I might be in with a chance of that one.....
I can always put it under 'any other....' tho' if you don't want a separate category.Last edited by Hazel at the Hill; 08-08-2007, 09:06 PM.

Jennie - the other judge with great experience of showing... (did I blink and miss that?!)
I'd also like to see this Virtual Show carry on in the friendly manner that Trousers and I are a part of this forum for, as Alice rightly says. We're only here because of that too.
The Show will be enormously funny with all our entries, and we are really looking forward to being a part of it.
Jennie, no chance of a 'Flobalob' Category I spose?! (Kidding!)

We were trying to keep it kind of small this year, to see how things go, as it is a bit of new venture for us (GYO and us mods - not necessarily you lot!) so it may well have to come under the "any other" Hazel. However, next year .............
PS I am making a list of possible other categories that have been mentioned in case there is an opportunity of expanding the existing list.~
