Clever you SueA, do you have any seeds going spare?
Blimey Mandy, you're good, they are (were!) cheese & onion. Sorry no seeds left I had to beg for mine off Gary Lineker!

Glad about that Jennie, I'm still waiting for a lot of things to excel themselves (just about giving up hope this year though)

          Thanks Mandy & Jennie

I'm really having fun being here, such friendly advice all round.

I think I've about exhausted my entries now though, although given the extended closing date who knows.

I had to upset my partner - he wanted me to enter one of his beloved pineapple plants -all grown from tops of supermarket fruit, I lose track of how many he has now. I've started banning him from potting them.

Anyway as I could only enter one house plant my beautiful flower went in instead

            Hi SMS6,

Glad you are having as much fun as I am.

Why not get your partner to join the vine too, then he can enter his pineapple plants. Or is that too much competition for you

            Mandy

Nick, if I was Mrs G you would have more than a metal stud belt to worry about

Having said that if you don't want the hamper can I have it, pretty please

                    changing the subject completely,

a question - for the purpose of the virtual show is a chilli pepper a fruit or any other vegetable? i posted in the any other veg category but noticed that Alice put her chillis in the other fruit category. dont really want to confuse the matter but just need to check i have posted in the right one.

                    help please.

                    • If it were me I would be posting it in "any other veg". Just my opinion though.

                      • Please choose the category you find most suitable, we may switch the categories of the entries if we feel they're better placed somewhere else though. I'm about to ad another prize so keep your eyes peeled!

                        • Technically it's a fruit so I'd go have gone with Alice on this one.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

                          • call it hedging your bets but have left chilli peppers in the other veg category and have entered sweet peppers in the other fruit category. stand a 50% chance of having some peppers posted in the right category now

                            • I'm confident a chillie is a fruit - so I'll leave my entry there.
Anyway, it's all just for fun. When the competition categories were announced I was very disappointed as they didn't cover my best stuff and I thought I wouldn't be able to enter anything. But, I've been able to enter quite a lot. Everything just grown for the table - and not for show, but we're all in that boat.
So come on folks. I'm sure you've all got good stuff there. Post your pics and lets have a look. If it's good enough for the table it's good enough for the show - well that's the view I'm taking.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

                              • My sentiments entirely Alice...., Growing for your kitchen is THE most pleasurable experience, as it matters not what it looks like.... the taste is bound to be divine anyway, because you grew it with your own fair hands peeps.
And I hope, even though they're 'nibbled round the edges a bit' that I may have a few entries of my own soon.

Oh, and I think that GYO have done us hugely proud in The Prizes Department? I, for one, would like to compliment Admin on their magnificent range of Prizes so far? Every single one of those prizes would be an absolute delight to win, in my opinion.
