Recommendations for buying topsoil?

I've been landscaping an overgrown (decades) patio/courtyard and having pulled up all the stone, want to get it level and raised and turfed.

Online calculators reckon I need 4 cubic metres. I understand quality varies a lot so I'd appreciate your recommendations. Our own soil is actually great there's just not enough of it.

When I measure the depth I need, they take into account that is squishes when you use these calculators, right?

Try contacting a local quarry operator/sand/gravel supplier who should be able to help. Ask for graded topsoil and you should avoid getting loads of stones and rubbish
