'Fixing' a lawn in 2 months!

Had to resize to 1/2. This is what it looks like. Glad I cleaned the poly day before last.

BTW no comments on the length of grass please. Cutting the lawn is the Man's responsibility. I was happy to use a push mower, he went and damaged his back at a stag do, refused to use the push mower, he bought a lawn mower which I won't touch now and for all his putting his foot down the lawn hasn't been cut is months and I accept no responsibility!

I really don't think you should panic Squingy - grass seed should germinate between 5 and 30 days in the growing season, if you sowed it at the start of May something should be visible by the end of the month. So long as you can show you have taken steps to return the condition you can't be held responsible for the growing time.

Whilst you are a tenant you are allowed to enjoy the property and sowing grass seed would be enough for a "reasonable person" which is what any tests for wear and tear etc. are based on.

Thanks Mrmauy. I'll just try and calm down and throw some the seed in the poly, no one's going to get lynched or end up in hospital over a patch of mud.

I'm sure I'll find something else to agonise over soon enough.

Give the soil/grass a good rake (scarifie) mix some grass seed with some damp compost and washed course sand in a bucket let it sit somewhere a bit warmer than outside for a week then scatter it over the damaged area, and looking at your photos I would recon three hand fulls of grass seed would do it and I think Wilco sell loose grass seed

Not sure if this has been said but it's very common for a tenancy agreement to go onto a rolling agreement. Speaking as an ex letting agent and someone who's own tenancy agreement hasnt been renewed for 6 years now...
So don't take it as certain that you will be served notice straight away, they might just not want to pay the renewal fees....
