ID:	2560481 I have a Tiger Potting shed with the perspex glass but over time it has become discoloured, cracked and unattractive. I contacted Tiger for some replacement sheets but they were megga expensive as they now supply all their sheds with much cheaper toughened glass. I had some delivered a few weeks ago but am wondering the best way to put them in as currently the perspex is heald with tacks. I did initially use clear sealant but over time it leaked in water and became green underneath between the perspex and the wood. I find currently that just sitting on the wood with tacks it doesn't leak into the shed BUT still gets green algae underneath.

I am a bit scared to be honest of the glass for obvious reasons but perhaps the weight of it will hold it down firmer as its on a slant. Trouble is when we get strong winds they have blown out the perspex so we don't want that risk.

I would appreciate any advice on the best, safest way to install these with the most efficient seal and no risk of algae as they won't be easy like the perspex to remove for cleaning it out. The good thing about the glass is it can be cleaned, unlike the perspex which shows up even the lightest abrasion.

Please ignore the messy shed inside as it's in progress.

No worries. I'll find something on YouTube no doubt.

The glass sounds heavier than the perspex,Will the ledges support that weight,I would have a look on trustpilot for window installation, phone for a price,if it’s a free quote he might say what needs to be done etc. Professional people won’t be scared of the glass, they do it every day,if the glass is heavy you need to be really careful, the slant could make it slide is my worry.
Other than that,if wanting to DIY,check out a load of videos on you tube of people doing the same, with tips & tricks to help. I don’t have real glass in my shed but some people do..

Ok, I managed to putty the glass in from the advice of Tiger Sheds. Now riddle me this - There are no gaps as the putty has sealed it water tight and yet I can see water is there between the glass and the wood. Impossible I would have thought.

ID:	2560988 So annoying as this will now go green over time and look bad. I won't be able to remove the glass to clean it.

Is that condensation seeping down inside?

Could you use clear bathroom/ kitchen sealant between the glass and the wood on the inside … or have I misunderstood the problem?

You have misunderstood the problem. The water seems to be getting in from the outside as it's dry inside with no condensation dripping down. Although for future reference when winter sets in and it does form its a good idea to put sealant on as you suggested.

ID:	2561086 I know it's probably pointless updating due to the lack of response but the putty is now shrinking back creating gaps. 😔

                    Well, that’s frustrating.

How much has it shrunk?…it was quite a large gap between the edge of the glass and the wooden upright.
I seem to recall on my old shed that the glass was held in place with wooden batons tacked in.
Can you do a rescue job combining the two?

I'm just going over the putty with more and really pressing it in to try and get it behind the glass.

What is this gap in the putty for that I’ve circled in the photo? Is it still there because rain water can rise in,it needs to be sealed all the way around & I wonder what putty have you used, was it the one recommended by Tiger Sheds, what have they said about the putty shrinking? Is it the correct putty for wood to glass, wood’s porous maybe that’s why it’s shrinking? Good luck with it,looks good
