I'm rubbish at DIY and I really hate nails and screws! So here's mine, flexi balls, bamboo canes and clothes pegs....

I am very impressed with all these very neat and professional jobs!

Mine is a bit more... um... ramshackle!

It is affectionately being referred to, on the plots, as The Marque!

The short bit down the side has Romanesco in it. The bit at the back will have overwintering Kale and PSB and the bit at the front will have calabrese, summer sprouting broccoli and cut and come again kale.

Every time I see these cages I want to rush out and buy some water pipe and debris netting. Not quite sure what I'd do with it but I really really want to have some.

I have netting and water piping everywhere , this weekend I have to net my fruit bushes. Thinking of small tunnels over the strawbs and netting draped around the currants?

My brassicas are all down one side, I can lift off the top for easy hoeing in the evening., I've threaded some bamboo which I can hold down with bricks.

Its that beautiful blue sky effect that I crave - not a brassica cage Time to net my whole garden - or make a bee veil from debris netting

on another forum that I frequent, one of the members has added his blog where he constructed a polytunnel

I will be doing the same, except instead of using bamboo, I will use round bar, and I will make mine a lot taller

I will also use the scaffolders debris netting, however, I may try clear thick plastic in winter so as to raie the temperature. He also suggests using black netting instead of green

                            here is his blog:

I bought black because I thought it would be less noticeable and after seeing the green I'm glad I did.
