  • How to atttatch willow trellis to shed?

I am growing some sweet peas for my allotment and I would like to grow them up the front of my shed. I bought some trellis in aldi and i got the willow kind, rather than the flat wood kind, but I am now realising I have no idea how to attatch this to the shed, for support and so it doesnt blow away!

    thanks

1/2" glavanised staples should do the trick

normal staples fit in a staple gun you can't change the depth, and therefore the length of the staple.
A hammer and staples is probably the best bet if the staple gun won't take the long ones

Don't think ordinary staple gun would be up to the job. If you imagine a nail bent like a horse shoe and with two points they are what I am refering to. The 1/2" bit means they will fit over a 1/2" cane.

Ordinary office staples will just rust and fall out (been there, done that).

Have you any battens (2x1 or something) that you can put between the shed and the trellis?

These. They're cheap, but I find them really difficult to bang in

If you screwed in some cup hooks you could hook it to the shed and if the shed needs painting you can un hook it. I'm not good hammering in staples either!

Most staples have one prong longer than the other, tap the long one in first instead of holding both points to the timber.

thank you for your help everyone. I looked at the staples in B&Q and although they looked like they would do the job, i went for the cup hooks as I knew I wouldn't have any problems getting them into the shed! I can happily report that my trellis is in place and awaiting planting of my sweet peas!

                    Cheers
