  • What can you make from pallets?

Following on from another thread, I thought it might be good to pull together some photos and ideas for reusing pallets.
Here's one of mine : its a pallet for slate or tiles and is 20" deep and 3' x 3'6" overall.
I've lined it with permeable membrane and it has asparagus planted into it.
In winter I put clear perspex over the top and use it as a cold frame

Well, here's my use of old pallet wood:

I have a couple myself and have made and given the planters to four of my neighbours.

I have had made (by my hubby) a compost heap thingy (using 4 pallets) and a large box to house all my pots and and planting tubs, to keep them all neat.
God made rainy days so gardeners could get the housework done. ~Author Unknown

I have two books from Joe Jacobs -one is called 'build it with pallets' and its very useful
My OH and I have made our compost heap with pallets (i think there is a picture on my page...please visit)and also the base for our chicken coop ...unfortunately that is now redundant as we had to give up chickens when our neighbours moved.(no-one to look after them when we arent here).Trying to persuade OH to make garden gate and fence also as we have a shed full of pallets but he's gone off DIY.

Hey, this is a good idea - I like it! And my shed door is almost falling off, so this could be just the job.

Like all the things you have made. I knew someone once who made a settee out of pallets, and all the soft furnishings to go with it! Very clever.
