as i had to rehome my chooks last year(now have problems with mobility) i have an unused coop area 3m x 5m.it is walled to 8ft ,back and side, and to 4ft 6in other side ,with the front a timber frame. i intend to use this to grow fruit, such as grapes and citrus, but what clear plastic would be best to use to cover it in? for light ?, for usable life? before it all needs replacing?.it will free up the parts of the g/house where i now grow a peach,in a tub,and my must have melons, i can then try otherfruit/produce and reap the benefits of this already sheltered area, all advice most welcme as i know nothing about the sorts of sheets available.....thank you..

I had two large frames made from 10mm twin wall polycarbonate in which I used to grow tomatoes and cumbers before I had a GH. When I took them down after 8 years of service the frames were tatty but my son took the sheets away built new frames and put them back into use. He is still using them 3 years on.

The only thing I would say if you go down this route is make sure the open ends are sealed otherwise you will get a build up of dirt between the two sheets and this will seriously affect the light levels.
