Seep hose

I've bought a couple of seep hoses from the 99p shop and am wondering if .....I run it around a bed or the gh and somehow fasten the end into a big bottle I could then just fill the bottle with water and it would do the watering for me ......?
Not sure the best way of connecting it up to a bottle tho'......

Looks like a standard hose fitting, seems like a bargain, I've spent around £20 for seep hoses for my 3 raised beds, im using micro irrigation kits in the greenhouse though, as I am growing in pots/bags

Seep hose are better if you have beds I think

Wilkos has a good variety of different connections, maybe you can find something to rig up your hose to a bottle there?

I have the luxury of having a waterbutt in my greenhouse, I will just connect my irrigation kit to that

Did the 99p shop have those water bottles that you can take camping? These have largish screw tops and maybe you could connect your hose to one of these rather than a standard bottle??

We have one of those I can try with that. It's actually quite a small fitting , tried it in the end of a squash bottle and there's room to spare around it .......

Large 10 ltr plastic detergent bottle, drill in the required size of hole and seal with Loctite Plastic Adhesive should do the trick. Unless of course you want to be able to disconnect it.

probably a daft question but do I have to have the bottle higher than the bed ?

Binners, yes the bottle would have to be higher than the point of delivery of the water. The higher the bottle the faster the water will flow through the hose, so you can use the height of the bottle to control the flow.

our wine comes in boxes with a tap on VC .......

The irrigation is now sorted (thankyou OH) . We have a builders bucket with a hole drilled in the bottom , which has a connector to a short length of normal hose which in turn has a connector to the seep hose. It has been tested and seems to work so next step is to lay it round the gh at the lottie and fix the bucket up outside so the rain can help .......
