Stepped strawberry planter

Hello all.

Quite proud of myself for this one so thought while I was in 'smug mode' (for all you Red Dwarf fans who happen to be here), I'd post this:



It's been built a stepped strawberry planter for the long pots that a certain Quality Discount store is selling for 99p each but can really be used for anything and is easily expandable with further legs and support.

Any thoughts, comments or questions on it will be gladly appreciated. You know, until I go back tomorrow and find the wind has blown it over and don't want to talk about it any more.

I've clearly got obsessive qualities. My first thoughts are - very good. Next thought, you need another one on the bottom row. Next thought, I probably would have arranged the tubs by coulour. Top layer fine, second layer - move the orange one up from bottom row and put it in middle next to other orange tub. Bottom row - buy another blue one. Sorry - they are very good is what I meant to be saying

I like it too but I'd swap the pot colours!! Top row, BOOB!!, Middle OBBO, Bottom BOOB
Actually, I would run a wire or rope around each shelf, just under the rims of the pots and tie them back to the support.- just in case they should be knocked/blown off.

Nice job, agree with VC about the rope or bungee cords.....best safe than sorry. I'm not a BOOB man myself so no probs with the colours........PS Hope you remembered to drill the pots...........

Thanks for your comments everyone.

moopmoop: I'm afraid the pots are like that because they're sorted by variety and when you ask a 2 and 4 year old to get a pot for the next strawberries, they pick the first one they see.

chris: It was easy enough to make but if you want to know how I did it, I'd be happy to share.

veggiechicken: The width of the shelves are such that the pots can't fall off backwards but I get your point about going forwards. May consider the wire option.
