  • Plastic bath planter

Having moved into a property that has a lot of decking. I purchased a couple of these "planter". Any suggestions what would be good to grow in them. Ill be drilling holes for drainage.

I'd plant a root veg as you can fill them with stone-free compost and grow straight carrots!
I bath my dogs in a Baby bath from Freecycle. It has a plug hole in it and is likely to become a planter too before long

Thats a good planter, grow more or less anything in that, calabrese, cauli's, spring cabbage etc.

I'd be concerned about it breaking up in sunlight, but it claims to be light-proof. Nice one.

Any ideas about how many drainage holes. More the better?

nwh I would have at least 4 22mm holes in that size of container. That way if 1 gets blocked the rest will still drain off surplus water.

A question! Are drainage holes better drilled in the sides of containers if they are going to be sitting on the floor rather than on blocks?

VC If the container is on say paving slabs which are flat then I would say yes.

Decking has slots and spacing between decking boards so drainage holes in the base should be fine imho.
