Building a compost bin using polycarbonate sheeting? good idea?

I've got some poly carbonate sheeting from the conservatory roof that i was going ot use to create a compost bin. Would this be a good idea or might i be better off sourcing wood to make one?
Would a better use of the sheeting be as a cold frame or make some cloches?

I would say use free pallets for a compost bin polycarb has better more benificial than a compost bin i could be way off though!

I'd rather use it for a cold frame or similar. That said, if you've plenty of it, it'll still do it's job of holding it in.

wooden construction for compost bin then extendit and use polycarb as cover over hotbin grow bed.

Most of the beneficial beasties that help break down the material into compost like the dark so I think they'd only work in the middle of the heap and avoid the light edges. You could end up with decomposition in the centre only.

Thanks guys, seems that it wouldnt be beneficial to use it for a compost heap and would have more value else where.
